On Wednesday, March 27, the YMCA of Greater Williamson County in partnership with the City of Round Rock and the Texas Baptist Children's Home held a ribbon cutting event to unveil the new Mays Street Sports Complex in Round Rock.
On Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010 the YMCA of Greater Williamson County held a ribbon cutting at its Mays Street Sports Fields in Round Rock to officially open a new restroom facility as well as a new concession stand to be used by the thousands of community children and families each year who take part in youth sports on these fields. While the restroom facility was made possible through a partnership with the City of Round Rock via a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), the concession stand was completed through the generosity of the Rabb Family and its company WAG-A-BAG. Notably, for all of their contributions over the years, the Rabb Family (with Nancy Rabb and her son Cary in attendance) was honored with a plaque that now adorns the front of the new concession stand and reads:
Since 1964 when the first WAG-A-BAG store opened, the Rabb family has placed a commitment to fairness and integrity in private enterprise with an ever-present focus on benefiting the people they serve. Through their stores and their personal efforts, the Rabbs have put families and community first throughout their time in Central Texas. WAG-A-BAG has made this concession stand possible so that it may serve the greater Round Rock community and its families for years to come.
