AFTERSCHOOL 2010-2011 REGISTRATION

The time is now to get prepared for the 2010-2011 school year by registering for YMCA Afterschool! Designed to ensure safety for children (grades K-5) while promoting healthy physical and emotion growth, helping working families and inspiring children to learn, the YMCA Afterschool Program strives to assist each child reach their full potential by offering a positive and enriching environment that encourages the development of character, leadership and cooperative spirit. YMCA Afterschool, which runs on weekdays from the time that school ends until 6:30 p.m., is also offered at convenient sites in Round Rock, Leander, Pflugerville, Taylor, Hutto, Liberty Hill and Thrall ISDs. Registration for the 2010-2011 academic year is in full swing, so hurry and sign up today!

YOUTH SPORTS REGISTRATION

It always seems like time flies by with today’s hectic schedules, but we don’t want you and your kids to miss the next season of YMCA Youth Sports at the YMCA of Greater Williamson County. The following are the registration dates for the next two seasons:

FALL 2010 SEASON
YMCA Family Member Registration: June 26-Aug. 7
Open Registration: July 10 – Aug. 7
Registration Deadline: Aug. 7
   
WINTER 2010-2011 SEASON
YMCA Family Member Registration: Sept. 25 – Nov. 6
Open Registration: Oct. 23 – Nov. 6
Registration Deadline: Nov. 6

Dive In Movie Night

Going to the movies and taking a dip in the pool are always fun ways to spend your time during the summer, but what if you could combine the two? Well, the Twin Lakes Family YMCA has done just that with its Dive In Movie Night. Enjoy a family-friendly movie poolside at the Twin Lakes Family YMCA Pool from 8:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. every second and fourth Friday beginning June 11 (June 11 & 25 / July 9 & 23 / Aug. 13 & 27 / Sept. 10). While children two years of age and younger are FREE, adult admission is $2 and $3, respectively for YMCA Members and Non-Members and kids above two years old are $1.50 (YMCA Members) and $2.50 (Non-Members). Concessions, including hot dogs, drinks, candy and chips, will also be available for purchase on site. The schedule for each evening (weather permitting of course) is as follows:

8:00 p.m. Pool Opens (time to enjoy the pool with an evening swim)
8:30 p.m. Concessions Open
9:15 p.m. Movie Begins

ADVENTURE NIGHT

Don’t let summer pass you by without a little family adventure out at Camp Twin Lakes! Mark your calendar and plan on joining us for our annual Adventure Night presented by the YMCA Adventure Guides program on Saturday, Aug. 28 from 5:00 p.m. -9:00 p.m. While parents and children in attendance will be able to participate in a number of outdoor adventure activities (including Archery, Skills Demonstrations, Canoes, Paddleboats, Tango Tower, Petting Zoo, Face Painting, Fire Building, Orienteering, Geo-caching & more) from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., everyone will also be able to take part in our Magic Campfire event from 8:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. There will also be information on hand to learn more about and sign up for the Adventure Guides program – where parents and children build and strengthen their relationship while making family outdoor adventures a staple throughout the year. Cost is only $10 per car, so don’t miss out on taking part in this ultimate family outdoor adventure expo. SWIM LESSONS

The hot weather has arrived, summer is here and the kids are ready to hit the pool, so now is the time to sign up for Swim Lessons at the Twin Lakes Family YMCA.
